Junko Asaba

Junko Asaba was born in Yokohama, initially studying art at the Women's College of Art, then going on to teach Japanese.  25 years ago she moved to Australia, continuing her career as a Japanese teacher in Northern NSW and Campbelltown.  In 1998 she returned to art, studying at the University of Western Sydney then later, in 2003, achieving her Masters in Visual Arts at the Sydney College of the Arts.

Over the past 15 years she has exhibited her at the University of Western Sydney and the Sydney College of the Arts, but has also held exhibitions at Sturt Gallery in Mittagong. Most recently her work has been featured in two exhibitions at Hazelhust Gallery in Sydney, Fragile in 2014 and Real Time in 2016
